Bio

I’m Viola – a graduate of CSUN and Fresno State, a write, an editor, a traveler and more. I love water, writing, French fries, traveling and koalas. I struggle with talking about myself, it’s awkward. I’ve bounced back and forth between working in journalism and social services.

I have over 10 years experience in journalism. I’ve been a student mentee with the NPR Next Generation Radio Project where I created an audio story on a male baker in South Los Angeles. I contributed entertainment articles to Lee Bailey EURweb. I’ve worked for The Collegian at Fresno State as a reporter and editor of a college supplementary newspaper called the Uhuru Na Umoja. I interned at HIS Magazine in Fresno, California as assistant editor where I contributed ideas and helped execute editorial photoshoots and a fashion show called Springtini (that I also had the privilege of modeling it). I also have experience with recording, producing and editing video and audio for news packages.

I worked an an independant contractor with KJLH radio station in programming, sales and promotion. I wrote entertainment show prep pieces, conducted research for new sales opportunities and partnerships and carried out the KJLH brand during people to people interaction with the street team. I’ve also worked with Nine27 Entertainment as an on set production assistant.
